jason marshall

writer, math dude podcast host, and astrophysicist

Jason Marshall is the author of the book The Math Dude's Quick and Dirty Guide to Algebra and the host of the weekly podcast The Math Dude's Quick and Dirty Tips to Make Math Easier.

He has a Ph.D. in astrophysics from Cornell University and has worked with the Spitzer Space Telescope team while a postdoctoral scholar and staff scientist at Caltech and NASA's JPL. He's authored and coauthored a bunch of research papers (the ones after 2004) along the way.

You can find Jason's ever-witty (see...isn't that witty?) thoughts about math, science, and daily life on Twitter, reconnect on his personal Facebook page, or become a super-cool and loyal fan of his Math Dude alter ego on his Facebook fan page.

Jason lives with his wife, Shannon, in Los Angeles, where it's warm and comfortable most of the year—a fact which he's rather fond of after living in frigid Ithaca, NY for six years (he does miss the snow). Oh, in case you're wondering, this is Jason in Italy. It was bright out.
